Western Governors Admit Action Needed on Climate
A bipartisan group of western US governors – the Western Governor’s Association – has finally acknowledged that greenhouse gases are on the rise. They are now arguing that action is needed to reduce global warming.
But here is the catch – Although the WGA unanimously passed a resolution calling on states and cities to reduce human-caused greenhouse gases, the resolution contained no specifics on what action should be taken. The language was said to be “carefully nuanced”.
Some even said the resolution did not link climate change to fossil fuels. Idaho Gov. James Risch, a new Republican said he had voted for a resolution that declared that climate change was human-caused. “I personally think there is science on both sides,” he said. “I’m not strongly convinced either way.”
I tell you what Jim, I am not strongly convinced you are up to the job. Its time to go – even after a week.
