We have known for over a decade just how damaging fracking is to our health. But the health impacts of exporting fracked gas have often been overlooked.

June 1st, 2024, the grand opening day, came and went —but nothing actually happened. It was the latest of many proposed start dates that have come and gone over the years. The highly controversial Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) was meant to start a year ago, then last month, and finally, on June 1st. Again, that deadline was missed. 

The Biden administration's claims that the Mountain Valley Pipeline would help Europe or benefit national security — in Europe, in the United States, or anywhere else — are wildly unfounded.

Yesterday marked the end of the Conservative’s Annual conference, held in the city of Birmingham. The tradition for any political conference is that the party leader gives a speech at the end of the conference.

Last week, new British Prime Minister outlined plans to frack in the UK. However, experts, scientists, activists, NGO’s and even Truss’s own MPs, believe that fracking will fail in the UK.

They say that politicians often operate in a bubble, removed from the rest of us. They have a blinkered view of reality, distorted by privilege and power.

Just as the U.S. oil and gas industry is looking to exploit the Ukraine war to expand exploitation of shale gas, so too is the European shale gas industry. 

In the coming days, weeks, and months Oil Change will work to build on our wins and hold the Biden Administration to account, just like we did with Trump and Obama before. We will be pushing for a radical just transition away from fossil fuels.

Whereas the oil majors are pulling back their shale operations, others though are looking to expand in US shale.
