Climate change is more than a fight over the future of our planet – it is a fight between young and old, male and female, white versus people of colour, people of power and privilege versus people from impoverished and indigenous communities.

For years, Cuadrilla has ignored climate science, ignored the geology, and ignored local people and politicians. And despite millions being spent by naïve and belligerent investors, their efforts have resulted in a fracking failure.

At the end of the day, Shell still cares more about its shareholders than it does about society. It cares more about profit than it does people. It cares more about cash than a safe climate.

Trudeau was called a climate hypocrite back in June and he is being called a climate hypocrite now. As Greta says: listen to the science. We can’t build any more pipelines if we want a safe climate.

After the UN climate Summit, Andrew Steer, head of the World Resources Institute and a former World Bank official, said the Big Polluters fell “woefully short” of expectations. “Their lack of ambition stands in sharp contrast with the growing demand for action around the world.”

Greta and 15 other young people have just filed what is being described as a "world-changing lawsuit" suing five of the world’s major carbon polluters for violating their rights as children.

Millions of people are marching and striking in over 150 countries. Today is going to be the biggest climate protest in history. Today, we make history. And tomorrow will be different. Business as usual will be no more.

"I don’t want you to listen to me. I want you to listen to the scientists. And I want you to unite behind the science. And then I want you to take action”.

Twice as many Americans want climate action, not war. It is that simple.
