Program Areas
OCI’s global campaigns – public finance, global policy, and global industry – are designed to support policy and narrative change around the fossil fuel industry in support of ending fossil fuel production.
The work to support frontline campaigns – to build the people power necessary for policy change – is grounded in OCI’s regional programs, in the United States, North Sea, Asia, and Africa.
Africa
Working to resist oil and gas development and support partners and allies across the continent of Africa.
Asia
Working hand in hand with local communities and civil society organizations to stop the expansion of fossil fuels and to help speed the transition to sustainable energy.
North Sea
Fighting against new oil and gas exploration and production by so-called climate leaders, and for a just transition that fulfills the Paris Agreement while building sustainable jobs and communities.
United States
Working to promote an equitable and managed phaseout of fossil fuels, ending fossil fuel finance, and supporting frontline fights to stop oil and gas expansion.
Global Industry
Confronting Big Oil & Gas companies through advocacy campaigns, incisive research, and communication with the public that cuts through industry disinformation.
Global Public Finance
Urging governments and their public finance institutions to stop funding fossils, and to shift this public money — and more — to renewable energy to power an equitable and just transition.
Global Policy
Pushing governments to move from words to action by adopting policies to immediately end new oil and gas production and to plan a just and equitable phaseout of fossil fuel production, with rich countries moving first and fastest.
