Oil Change International expresses deep solidarity with the Palestinian people in light of Israel’s ongoing deadly bombing campaign. For over 18 months, Israel’s deadly escalation against civilians, the majority of whom are children, has been evident, yet the United States and others have continued to supply Israel with weapons and oil, fueling the ongoing violence.
According to our research, the United States is the Israeli military’s largest source of imported jet fuel. Oil majors, including BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, Eni, and TotalEnergies, are also complicit in fueling atrocities through their ownership stakes in and operations of projects supplying oil to Israel. Fossil fuel companies continue to look for ways to profit from the genocide and displacement of Palestinian people: Just this week, BP and SOCAR committed to explore for gas off the coast of Israel for the first time.
Netanyahu, his allies in the United States, and the oil companies complicit in fueling this genocide have blood on their hands. The genocide in Palestine must end today. The countries and companies fueling it have more reason than ever to end their relationships with Israel and stop their support of the bombing, displacement, and murder of Palestinian civilians. We call on Israel and its international allies, especially the United States, to broker a true and lasting ceasefire and end the devastation in Palestine.
